Exit Readiness

Preparing a business for sale is essential to maximise the valuation and increase the attractiveness of the business. Much of the grooming process is a common sense, but since there are very few businesses that present the “perfect” profile, how should you prioritise the actions whilst continuing to run the business?

It is clear that what is important to a buyer is often not the same as that for the ongoing management.

The Prism Exit Readiness Review is designed to provide a status check on the readiness of your business for sale, identify key actions to be taken and review the likely timescale – all within the personal and business objectives of the owner manager.

The process is designed to be quick, does not require significant amounts of your time, does not commit you to any ongoing relationship with Prism and will be carried out in the strictest confidence.

The review involves the following steps:

1. Introductory call to brief on process, respond to any questions you may have and to collect basic details
2. Completion of a brief Exit Readiness Questionnaire and provision of basic financial and other information

The information will generally include the following:

3. Telephone interview or visit to explore personal and business objectives and to examine issues raised by the Exit Readiness Questionnaire

4. Telephone or face to face feedback on saleability and key actions to be undertaken to maximise value

The review does not include an assessment of valuation, nor does it attempt to identify suitable exit strategies. For that please see our more comprehensive Options Review.
