A tidy business contributes hugely to an effective sale and there are plenty of things to consider and implement to ensure your sale process goes smoothly from the very beginning. It’s mostly in the preparation – we all know the ‘6 Ps’ rule (perfect preparation prevents p*&& poor performance!)

A pre-sale review is a pre-requisite for any sale process. Get your Corporate Finance Advisor to review the business from top-to-toe. The result should be a set of priorities – identifying the key things that need to be addressed prior to sale.

It will also identify flaws which will allow you to consider which ones you are prepared to live with. The business need not be perfect to achieve a great price… but equally don’t be tempted to perfume the pig!
