New Year, New Goals
Insights by Peter Watson.
Happy New Year!
Hopefully you got some time to reflect on your business and achievements over the festive period. At the start of a new year it is very easy to just slip back into familiar ways – thereby forgoing an opportunity to re-assess your goals, both business and personal.
Consider where would you like your business to be in 1, or 2 or even 5 years’ time. Should it be continuing down the same path it is today? Are there improvements that could be made to make it better and increase its value? Or, perhaps you believe it could have a stronger future potential under different ownership.
And for yourself, what would you like to be doing in 1-5 years? Would you be happy still doing the same thing as you are today? Is there a new project that you’d prefer to focus on? If retirement is looming, have you considered reducing your hours to ease that transition?
Habits are incredibly powerful – in a good or bad way – so you may need to modify these if you want a different outcome.
